Location: Camps Bay, Cape Town, South Africa
System: REHAU S780, S781, S717
Special Features: The installation is over 25 years old and still in top condition
The windows and doors installed at the apartment building “The Beaches” in Camps Bay, Cape Town, South Africa, were inspected to determine the condition of the original profiles after having been exposed to one of the most corrosive sea air environments, as well as intensive western sunlight and UV exposure for over 25 years.
As expected, the uPVC windows and doors were still in excellent condition, showing absolutely NO signs of rotting, chalking, warping, cracking, yellowing or peeling, even though the apartments face directly west towards the sea.
Commenting on the outcome of the inspection, Pieter Malherbe Managing Director at TEVA Windows said, “Even though some of the rollers and some hardware had to be refitted, the profiles themselves were found to be in perfect condition. It confirms that REHAU uPVC profiles are superior to the traditional window systems installed in South Africa.”
“REHAU uPVC profiles are also very durable and low maintenance and the excellent outcome of the “The Beaches” inspection gives us even more reason at TEVA Windows to use these uPVC profiles. By partnering with REHAU that has a solid track record of more than 30 years in South Africa, we are able to give our clients excellent peace of mind,” concluded Malherbe.
TEVA Windows is the market leader in the supply of energy efficient windows and doors in South Africa. The company has been operational for ten years, with their head office in Kaya Sands, Johannesburg and multiple representations across South Africa.
